All weekend I’ve had Southampton students contact me who are distraught about their results. One student had achieved As throughout her course, in her mocks and this is what her teacher had assessed her as. However she ended up with much lower grades. Luckily her University has still offered her a place but some students who have contacted me have had their conditional offers declined.
This is a fiasco, around 40% of students have had their teacher assessed results downgraded by an algorithm. It has disproportionately affected those at schools with bigger class sizes in disadvantaged areas.
Please sign the petition below and ask the government to rethink their approach to these results.
