Big issues need a big conversation: affordable housing in Southampton.

Alan Whitehead MP and John Denham MP will be co-hosting an informal meeting to discuss affordable housing Southampton this Saturday as part of Labour’s Big Conversation. The meeting will bring together those with a direct involvement with the provision of housing in the city as well as other interested individuals. It will take place at the Volunteer Action Centre in Kingsland Square, St Mary St, Southampton, from 10:00am – 12:00pm on Saturday March 27th March

Alan Whitehead MP, for Southampton Test, said.
“Whilst many innovative schemes exist to help people access affordable housing in Southampton, the challenge ahead is still huge given the high demand for housing and the strong economy. There are no easy answers but I hope this meeting will be an opportunity for ideas to be aired and listened to.”

John Denham MP, for Southampton Test, said
"Affordable housing is a key issue, especially in an area of high housing costs like Southampton. I have been campaigning for more affordable housing to be provided, such as on the VT site at Woolston. I am looking forward to the Big Conversation on Saturday."

If you wish to attend the Big Conversation on affordable housing please phone Alan Whitehead’s office on 8023 1942.
