MP supports Mansel Park Community Festival

Southampton MP Alan Whitehead will be one of the judges at the Children’s talent show taking place on Sunday 10 August as part of the Mansel Park Community Festival. Judging will start at 11.20am at The Saints pub in Kendal Avenue and there will be a photo opportunity in Mansel Park in Millbrook at 12pm.

Alan Whitehead, MP for Southampton Test, says,
“The Outer Shirley Youth Action Group wanted to do something for the whole community during the summer and the result is the Mansel Park Community Festival. They have shown commitment and dedication to make it happen: hopefully going some way to dispel the myth that young people are not interested in their own community. The group, assisted by the Outer Shirley Regeneration Youth co-ordinator, have been instrumental in many successful local projects and hopefully their enthusiasm will encourage others to get involved.”

The Mansel Park Community Festival will run from 11am to 5pm on Mansel Park in Millbrook on Sunday 10 August and is free of charge and open to all the family. Activities will include demonstrations by the Motor Cycle Stunt Display Team, Southampton DJ Society and Kwik Cricket. More information about the Youth Action Group and how you can get involved is available by contacting Maria Draper on 023 8091 5426.
