Alan Whitehead helps Movin' on Project set sail in Southampton

Southampton MP Alan Whitehead is set to officially launch the Movin' On project pioneered by Fairbridge Solent on Tuesday 29 July at 11am from the Spirit of Fairbridge at Ocean Village, Southampton.

Alan Whitehead, MP for Southampton Test, says,
"Fairbridge Solent plays a vital role in Southampton, acting as safety net for young people in the city who need support so that they can grow in confidence and move on to take on new challenges and get more out of life. The Movin' On project will provide long term support to young people complementing the work that is already carried out in the city and helping them with educational and vocational skills."

Fairbridge Solent has been operating for 4 years and is based in the city centre. Twelve staff have worked with 600 young people, helping them gain the confidence to move forward with their lives: the Movin' On project will seek to consolidate and build on this work.
