Listening to Social Housing Tenants
February 4th 2009
Alan Whitehead MP is urging constituents who live in housing association, ALMO, co-operative or local authority controlled social housing to make sure they have their say in a nationwide consultation of tenants.
The Tenant Services Authority, the new independent regulator for social housing, wants to hear from as many social housing tenants as possible, to help it decide on new standards which landlords will be expected to follow.
Dr Whitehead said:
“This is an important opportunity for tenants to make their voices heard about their housing needs and how they are treated by their landlords. You can either complete the survey directly, or, if you prefer to feed your views through me, I will make sure they are passed on to the Tenant Services Authority.
Tenants can download a questionnaire from www.nationalconversation.co.uk, or call 0845 230 7000 (choosing option 1) for further information.
