Southampton Test Energy Saver Handbook

January 28th 2009

Alan Whitehead MP has today published a new booklet for anyone worried about their energy bills or who wants to reduce their home’s carbon footprint.

Dr Whitehead’s booklet- ‘Stay Warm, Save Money’- explains all the help available from government to reduce your energy bills, how to apply, and what the financial savings are for each scheme.

The booklet includes information on:

The Energy Saver Handbook follows on from Dr Whitehead’s well-received Anti-Social Behaviour Handbook, published last summer, which explains all your rights under the law for dealing with anti-social behaviour and vandalism.

Dr Whitehead said: “Most households are now eligible for some kind of help with their energy bills, whether it is through grants to insulate their home, preferential tariffs or Winter Fuel Payments.  But I know it can be hard to work out what you are entitled to.  That’s why I’ve set out in this handbook all the help that’s available and what the cash savings are.”

Copies of the handbook are now being sent to libraries, residents associations and other community groups.  The booklet, like all of Dr Whitehead’s publications, are free to all constituents in Southampton Test.  Any constituent or group that would like a copy can request one by contacting Alan or by downloading a copy using the link on the right of this page.
