Alan talks manifestos with Mason Moor children

October 17th 2008

mason moorAlan Whitehead met with pupils from Mason Moor Primary School, when they came up to Parliament to meet him and look round the Palace of Westminster.

Dr Whitehead was grilled by the students who asked him about his life in parliament and his work as an MP. The students had also drawn up election manifestos of their own with suggestions such as free sports equipment for schools and even a competition to allow people to be King or Queen for a day.  After meeting their MP the students proceeded on a tour of the Houses of Parliament; an exciting trip, especially for some pupils who had never visited London before.

Alan promised to consider the Mason Moor students’ proposals very carefully and to bring them up in relevant meetings with his ministerial colleagues.

Alan said :

“I am delighted to have met the Mason Moor students and was very impressed with their enthusiasm and intelligent suggestions. I hope they enjoyed their visit to Parliament.”
