Alan to visit Learningland in Millbrook

3rd July 2008

On Monday 14th July Dr Alan Whitehead will visit the Learningland Day Nursery in Millbrook, Southampton as part of a month of activities celebrating the benefits of affordable childcare to families in Britain.

Alan will meet with staff at the nursery to thank them for the work they do, and to hear more about the benefits childcare can provide to both children and their parents.

Britain’s 5 leading childcare charities are working with MPs and the government to organise similar events throughout June and July as part of the campaign ‘Celebrating childcare, supporting families.’

Dr Whitehead said:

“Learning Land is a very appropriate place to celebrate the benefits of childcare, because today childcare can often provide vital opportunities for parents to access education and training.  I’m looking forward to meeting the Learning Land staff and thanking them personally for the very important work they do.”
