Are the Tories poised for a Meals on Wheels u-turn?
7th March 2011
Last week Alan helped expose the Tory Council's plans for a 37% price hike in Meals on Wheels charges. Now (much like with the Forestry proposals last month) the Tories are claiming they haven't made up their mind about the proposals yet and they could still be dropped. Alan said:
“The Council appears to be shifting its position from what it was saying last week, when they were defending the price rise as reasonable and made no mention of any alternative options being considered. If they have now decided to look at these proposals again, that is to be welcomed. But we shouldn’t let up on the campaign until we have clear confirmation this unfair and regressive price hike will definitely be scrapped.”
