Come along to Southampton's 2nd Energy Saving Workshop
Date: Saturday 10th October 2009
Place: Lordshill Community Centre on Andromeda Rd (SO16 8BB)
Time: 10am - 1pm
This Saturday, Alan Whitehead has organised a workshop to help residents who want to cut their energy bills this winter and reduce the overall amount of energy they use in the long term.
Alan will be running Southampton’s 2nd Energy Saving Workshop on Saturday 10th October at the Lordshill Community Centre. The workshop will run from 10am to 1pm and is open to all Southampton residents.
Attendees will have access to free, impartial and confidential advice on all the help available to make their homes more energy efficient and to ensure people on low incomes can afford to heat their homes properly.
Advisors from Southampton Environment Centre, Ofgem, the major energy companies, local councillors, and other organisations will all be on-hand to explain the help available from the government and other sources.
Alan ran Southampton’s first Energy Saving Workshop in February 2009. The workshop served over 100 constituents throughout the day and helped a number of constituents claim help they previously did not know they were entitled to. Based on the popularity of the first workshop, Alan pledged to hold another later in the year.
Alan said:
“I want to make it as easy as possible for people in Southampton to get help reducing their energy bills and their overall energy use. The last workshop we ran in Portswood was very effective and I hope we can help even more people this time.”
If you are unable to attend the workshop on Saturday but would like more information on help to reduce your energy bills, you can download Alan's Energy Saver Handbook or call the governemnt's Energy Advice Helpline on 0800 512 012.
