Throughout my time as an MP one of my most important jobs was fighting for those of my constituents who weren't given a fair deal by the Tory government.
One of the many examples of the Tories failure to stand up for my residents can be seen in the way in which the rise in pension age for women has been implemented.
Many women, particularly those born in the 50s will not have been given adequate notice of the raise in the state pension age for women due to it being implemented far quicker than originally advised. Some women received no notice at all!
This affects thousands of women in Southampton and I’ve been supporting the Solent WASPI - Women Against State Pension Inequality Campaignto get fairer transitional arrangements in place.
If re-elected on Thursday 8th June I will continue to be a strong voice in Parliament for these women and many more like them.
