Alan Whitehead MP joined up with Southampton City Council’s neighbourhood cleanup scheme ‘Street CRED’.

Street CRED (which stands for Crime Reduction and Environment Days) is a new scheme aimed at restoring pride in Southampton’s neighbourhoods by Southampton City Council and its partners by holding a series of action days to tackle environmental crime and anti-social behaviour.

Alan Whitehead MP met with residents, council officers and police to discuss concerns regarding anti-social behaviour and environmental crime on and around Windrush Road.

Alan Whitehead MP said:

"I’m glad that the council is running this scheme and hope that residents appreciate the hard work of the volunteers, council officers and the police in giving the neighbourhood a deep clean. It was interesting to see how by removing graffiti, jet-washing walls and clearing litter, can transform the area.

“Anti-social behaviour can be a blight in our neighbourhoods and I would encourage people to contact the police to get further information on how to tackle it."
