About Southampton Test

Southampton Test is a Parliamentary constituency, which represents the western part of Southampton. The constituency is made up of the following wards: Bevois, Coxford, Freemantle, Millbrook, Portswood, Redbridge and Shirley. I have represented Southampton Test since 1997.

The constituency is home to the vibrant high streets of Shirley and Portswood, which offers a wide range of independent shops such as (a personal favourite) October Books. The constituency also hosts the St Mary’s Stadium, the home of Southampton FC and therefore an integral part of city life.

The city has a wealth of maritime history and has always revolved around the port, providing jobs and playing an essential role in the local economy. Today the port remains successful; it is the second largest container port in the UK and operates the busiest cruise terminal in the country.
